Your family is in our prayers and we are deeply saddened by your losses.
We are forever grateful for all the help we have had from your crews and all the fire fighters who have been working on the fire complexes near our home.
Our Company recently worked with some of your crew. We are so very proud of all of them. Words cannot begin to tell you how sorry we are for your company and the firefighters family, friends and co-workers. All of here have been thinking, praying and talking of your loss daily.
My own son turned 18 this year and has started with us as a Dozer Swamper. He took it hardest. Your crews have been so encouraging to him. He hopes to start next year as a Firefighter. God Bless you all and remember that you are not alone. B O’Coy, owner/operator

Thank you for your sacrifices! MEMORY ETERNAL!
There are not sufficient words to express the sorrow in our hearts for you and your firefighter family at this time of tradgedy.
We wish to express our heartfelt sympathy for you and the families of the fallen and injured.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you for all you do for the firefighter community!
I was saddened to learn of this tragedy after working two great Grayback crews in Mendocino during the lightning complex. This is a loss to the fire fighting community. There is nothing I can say that is adequate, but my heart goes out to the entire Grayback family.
To the loved ones of those that were lost… you are in the thoughts and prayers of the Reid family. To those still struggling to recover emotionally and physically from the crash… you are also in our prayers, as are all wildland firefighters. They are the best of the best… the bravest of the brave.
My prayers are with all the families, and friends.
I feel so terrible for all of you that lost a loved one, and also the ones who were injured, and the ones who were on the mountain at the time the crash happened. It will be tough to ease this pain.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

For Caleb, et. al.
The beginning of a Rumi poem which has helped me so much…
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep…
I so appreciate the sharing, and caring for all. It is sooooo helpful.
Peace,
~L
For Caleb, and all of the firefighters who are heroes to us…
“When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.” – Chief Aupumut (1725), Mohican.
You have been lifted up, to heights we here have yet to reach. Take with you our love, our prayers, and know that we honor you…
May we still here find peace in the knowledge that you will all live forever in our hearts and minds…we will hear your voices, we will see your smiles, and in our hearts we will give thanks for having known you.
May God Bless.
